Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through OakwellOutfitters.co.uk.
Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order through our website, you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About Oakwell Outfitters
Oakwell Outfitters is an independent UK retailer specialising in forestry, arboriculture, woodland equipment, PPE, tools, consumables and related products.
You can contact us at:
Email: stuart@OakwellOutfitters.co.uk
Website: OakwellOutfitters.co.uk
Business/trading address: 16 Oakwell Road, DG7 1JY
If you have a question about an order, please contact us using the email address above.
2. Our Products
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, photographs and prices displayed on our website are accurate.
However, manufacturers may occasionally change product specifications, packaging or appearance without notice.
Images are provided for illustrative purposes and colours may vary slightly depending on your screen or device.
Where a product is available in different sizes, specifications or variants, it is your responsibility to select the appropriate option before completing your order.
3. Product Availability
All products are subject to availability.
Some products are held directly by Oakwell Outfitters, while others may be held and dispatched by our approved suppliers or fulfilment partners.
Stock information can occasionally change before our website has been updated.
If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible. Where we cannot supply the product, we will offer an appropriate alternative where suitable or cancel the affected item and provide a refund.
4. Placing an Order
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.
After placing your order, you should receive an acknowledgement confirming that we have received it.
An order acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
A contract between you and Oakwell Outfitters is formed when we accept your order, normally when we confirm that the order is being processed or dispatched.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order before acceptance where reasonably necessary, including where:
- A product is unavailable
- There has been an obvious pricing or description error
- We cannot obtain authorisation for payment
- We reasonably suspect fraudulent activity
- Delivery cannot reasonably be made to the supplied address
If we cancel an order after taking payment, any amount due back to you will be refunded.
5. Prices
All prices displayed on the website will be shown in pounds sterling (GBP).
Whether displayed prices include VAT will be clearly indicated where applicable.
Delivery charges, where applicable, will be shown during checkout before you place your order.
We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not normally affect orders that we have already accepted.
6. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout.
Payments may be processed securely by third-party payment providers.
By submitting payment information, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
We do not normally receive or store your complete payment-card details when transactions are processed by an external payment provider.
7. Delivery
We currently deliver to eligible UK addresses using Oakwell Outfitters, our suppliers, fulfilment partners and/or third-party couriers.
Estimated delivery times may vary depending on the product, supplier and destination.
Any delivery dates or times shown on the website are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.
We will make reasonable efforts to deliver orders within the estimated period and in accordance with our legal obligations.
More detailed information is available on our Delivery page.
8. Orders Fulfilled by Our Suppliers
Some Oakwell Outfitters products may be dispatched directly to you by one of our approved suppliers or fulfilment partners.
This means that products within the same order may occasionally arrive in separate deliveries.
Where a supplier fulfils your order on our behalf, we may provide them with the information reasonably necessary to complete delivery, such as your name, delivery address, contact details and products ordered.
Your purchase remains with Oakwell Outfitters.
If you have a problem with an order, please contact Oakwell Outfitters rather than contacting the supplier directly unless we specifically ask you to do so.
Information about how personal data is shared with fulfilment partners is available in our Privacy Policy.
9. Delivery Problems
Please ensure that the delivery information supplied when placing your order is accurate.
If you believe your parcel has been lost, significantly delayed or incorrectly delivered, please contact us so that we can investigate.
If a parcel cannot be delivered because incorrect or incomplete delivery information was supplied, additional delivery costs may apply where legally permissible.
10. Your Right to Cancel
If you are purchasing as a consumer, UK law generally gives you the right to cancel many online purchases without giving a reason.
For most eligible goods, the cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you, or a person nominated by you, receives the goods.
If an order contains multiple goods delivered separately, the applicable cancellation period may run from receipt of the last relevant item as provided by law.
You should inform us clearly if you wish to exercise your right to cancel.
Contact:
stuart@OakwellOutfitters.co.uk
After notifying us of your cancellation, you must return the goods within the applicable legal timeframe.
Certain products are excluded from the statutory right to cancel, including some personalised or bespoke goods and certain sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
Further information is available in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
11. Returns
Please contact Oakwell Outfitters before returning a product.
Because some products are dispatched directly by our suppliers, different products may need to be returned to different locations.
We will provide the appropriate return instructions.
Do not return an item directly to a manufacturer, distributor or fulfilment partner unless Oakwell Outfitters has instructed you to do so.
For unwanted goods returned under your statutory cancellation rights, you may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless we state otherwise or applicable law requires us to bear that cost.
Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for further information.
12. Refunds
Where you are entitled to a refund, it will normally be issued to the payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed or required.
Refunds will be processed within the timescales required by applicable UK consumer law.
Where applicable, statutory refunds following cancellation will include the appropriate standard outbound delivery charge. Additional costs resulting from choosing a more expensive delivery option than our standard service do not necessarily have to be refunded.
13. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods
Products supplied by Oakwell Outfitters must meet the standards required by UK consumer law.
If a product is faulty, not as described, not fit for purpose or otherwise fails to conform to your statutory rights, please contact us.
Your rights in relation to faulty goods are separate from your right to change your mind about an online purchase.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer legislation.
14. Product Safety and Appropriate Use
Some products sold by Oakwell Outfitters are intended for professional forestry, arboriculture, chainsaw, woodland or outdoor use.
You are responsible for ensuring that a product is suitable for your intended use and that it is used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, warnings and applicable safety requirements.
Products such as chainsaw equipment, PPE, climbing equipment, forestry tools and machinery accessories should only be used by appropriately trained or competent persons where required.
PPE should not be modified or used contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Nothing in this section excludes or restricts liability that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Chainsaw Parts and Compatibility
Where purchasing chainsaw chains, guide bars, sprockets or other replacement components, you should carefully check compatibility with your particular machine.
Model names alone may not always be sufficient because specifications can vary between versions.
Where available, check measurements, part numbers, chain pitch, gauge, drive-link count and manufacturer compatibility information before ordering.
If you’re unsure, please contact us before purchasing and we’ll try to assist.
16. Product Advice
We may provide product information, buying guides and general practical information through the Oakwell Outfitters website.
This information is intended as general guidance and does not replace manufacturer instructions, formal training, professional advice or workplace risk assessments.
Always follow applicable manufacturer instructions, legislation and recognised safe working practices.
17. Promotions and Discount Codes
From time to time we may offer discounts, promotional codes or special offers.
Additional conditions may apply to individual promotions.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash and may not be combined with other offers.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend a promotion where reasonably necessary, provided this does not affect orders already accepted contrary to applicable law.
18. Website Availability
We aim to keep OakwellOutfitters.co.uk available and functioning correctly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may occasionally need to suspend access for maintenance, security or technical reasons.
We may also update, modify or remove website content and product ranges.
19. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Oakwell Outfitters name, branding, website design and original website content belong to Oakwell Outfitters or are used with appropriate permission.
Manufacturer names, logos, trademarks, photographs and product information remain the property of their respective owners where applicable.
Website content must not be reproduced commercially without appropriate permission.
20. Our Responsibility to You
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
If you are purchasing products wholly or mainly for business purposes, different legal rights may apply. We may introduce separate business terms if Oakwell Outfitters begins offering dedicated trade accounts.
21. Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Please read the Privacy Policy for information about what personal information we collect, why we use it, and who it may be shared with.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes to our business, website, products or applicable law.
The version applying to an order will normally be the version in force when that order was placed.
The latest version will always be available on our website.
23. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also benefit from mandatory rights and may be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where you live.
